Offering venue for the Historic Places Trust

On the 6th of March, under the arrangements between Michael Fitzgerald and a BLIA NZ member that offered a venue, a meeting of Canterbury Branch Committee of the Historic Places Trust will be held at the BLIA NZ South Island. Being offered the venue, Michael and the members that came from thousands of miles away and from different districts thanked BLIA NZ South Island for the spirit, confidence and hope that they have given to Christchurch.

One third of the buildings, including a lot of historical buildings in Christchurch city were severe damaged by the earthquake. In order to have a meeting to rebuild the city, on 8th of March, 6pm, lecturer Ian Lockhead, MP Brendon Bums, Helen Broughton and around 40 important people of the meeting attended.

The meeting is about to rebuild icons around Christchurch city and in 5 minutes of the meeting, they have proposed a lot of ideas and options to preserve and reconstruct this historical city of Christchurch.

After the meeting ended, MP Brendon Bums has informed Venerable Abbess Manshin that they may have another meeting in this quiet and peaceful environment at 6pm, on the coming 11th of March.
