Co-operation with other relief centres
BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Centre has provided several relief services which comforted people after the earthquake and had more good reputation in Christchurch; a lot of community services had donated vegetables, fruits and aid to the BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Centre. The BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Centre had coincidently become a center in receiving and donating or distributing vegetables and fruits to other relief centers, helping out more earthquake victims. BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Centre has also provided hot meals to other relief centers daily. For example, in looking after 50 family members missing victims, the Canterbury Chinese earthquake relief group had came to BLIA NZ Relief Centre to takeaway hot meals to the victim’s family; hoping the family have the best of care. BLIA NZ Relief Centre has also set up a temporary office for the news media to release latest news to the public. Besides that, the relief centre has also helped the police force in translating some documents, printing posters and other printed matters; providing office space and other needs and supports. Police Officer Sergeant Rakesh Naidoo has then donated a box of A4 paper to BLIA NZ Relief Centre and thanked the BLIA members for their support and to have lessened the work load of the Police Force.
