Fo Guang Shan being welcomed, supporting media reports
New Zealand’s only Chinese TV channel WTV reporter Miss Ling-Ling Liang in a group of three flew from Auckland to Christchurch on the 25th afternoon, welcomed by Fo Guang Shan North Island’s president Miss Dolly Tsai with South Island’s directors Ms Louisa Kuo and West One Subchapter Deputy President, Ms. Lu-Ping at the airport. Once Miss Liang and her group arrived, they first visited Fo Guang Shan South Island centre to have an understanding of the operations, offerings provided and in the same time had an interview with Venerable Abbess Manshin. Abbess would like to appreciate a full support from International Society of Fo Guang Shan on this earthquake relief, letting Fo Guang Shan South Island has a first hand in helping the people from the earthquake. Miss Liang and her group were given a reliable transport to have smooth interviews throughout the days in Christchurch from South Island Fo Guang Shan. Moreover, Abbess Manshin has also arranged a special office for reporters to get the news of the earthquake ready.
The host of South Australia, Adelaide’s Channel Ten (The 7pm Project), Jules and Christchurch’s TV host Ali etc. visited the South Island Fo Guang Shan and had a meal that has been provided. They appreciate the warmth and concerns given by the BLIA New Zealand Earthquake Relief Centre. With that, they’ve vow to send out the warmth and concerns provided by the BLIA New Zealand Earthquake Relief Centre throughout the media. Venerable Man Xing also welcomed Taiwan’s Chung Tian Channel reporter Miss Lee Yi-Hui, when coming to report about the situation. Without any transportation, a volunteer from Fo Guang Shan South Island’s was also helping out Miss Lee in bringing her around for the next two days.
On the 25th of February, TVBS wireless Satellite TV station editor Lin Jiaxuan, photojournalist Wu Jianhong and cameraman came to the “BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Service Centre” to have an interview about the situation, as Abbess Manshin and BLIA NZ North Island President Dolly Tsai accepts the interview. Abbess Manshin explained that the “BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Service Centre” is stable and will carry on the duty of comforting and relieving the mind of the people. The centre will also observe and respect the life and the humanity concerned, helping each person that comes into the service center to feel ease and relieve. President Dolly Tsai also reports the appreciation that attained the centre and the members of the BLIA New Zealand. The centre also offers TVBS interview group a venue for them if needed and for them to borrow the venue on processing news pictures.
The “BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Service Centre” has a shortage of manpower as media from everywhere demand news data. Abbess Manshin assigns personnel from Auckland urgently to fly into Christchurch City to assist and organize news materials in Christchurch City. On the 25th afternoon, BLIA NZ North Island information group Ms. Hoon, Ms. Candice, Ms. Kara and Ms. Ying-ping arrived at Christchurch City Airport carrying large quantities of disaster relief commodity into the center.
