Day 8th of YAD Summer camp

On the 4th of January 2011, the 8th day of Summer Camp commenced. After breakfast, the youth were given a temple tour by Auntie Annie, who is a volunteer at the temple. The youth learnt about the different types of Bodhisattvas and gained more knowledge on the setup and history of Fo Guang Shan Temple. For lunch, the youth were invited to the tea house for a meal and were delighted to have a change in environment.. Once lunch was over, the youth helped in the garden before sitting down with Abbess for a talk about spirits. The youth were very curious as they heard stories about experiences the others have had with spirits. The youth learnt that spirits are unable to talk and are not harmful unless you distract them intentionally. The youth learnt about the 6 realms and why we must hit the bell in the mornings.
