Day three of the youth Summer Camp

01 / 14

Day three of the youth Summer Camp commenced on the 30th of December. The youth woke up bright and early which enabled them to arrive punctually to morning chanting. Once the chanting concluded Venerable Rulian decided to teach the youth how to accurately put on and take off the robes which are used by the youth during chanting. This included going over how to fold the robes after they have been taken off. After breakfast, the girls swept around the temple corridors while the boys emptied water from the pots, then everyone met behind the Ksitigharba hall to help tidy the garden. After lunch the youth had a lesson with Uncle Pang, a former school principal from Malaysia . They learnt how to convert knowledge into wisdom and how becoming a better character now will benefit our future. Following the lesson, the youth had a snack before getting ready to do some more chores. The girls cleaned windows while the boys vacuumed inside the classrooms of the Fo Guang Chinese school. During the evening, the science lesson was focused on biology. The class was greatly enjoyed by all and the lesson became inter-active as the youth were told to look through the garden for a specific type of leaf formation, to help understand the biology of plants. Finishing day three of Summer Camp the youth went for a stroll through Point View Reserve before heading to bed.
