Chinese Knotting Class- Having Fun as We Learn

01 / 10

BLIA South Island West 1 Subchapter held a Chinese knots class at FGS South Island on 8th August. BLIA members Ms Chen and Mrs Chen were invited to take the class. The students were West 1 Subchapter President Lisa Tsai, Vice-president Ms Lin and a dozen other BLIA members.

First of all the teachers introduced to the students the materials used for Chinese knotting, and taught the students how to make Chinese knots for a teapot lid. Under the careful guidance of the teachers, the students were able to create flower-shaped knots.

With great concentration, the students beautified their creations, and after they had completed their works of art, the teachers helped add the finishing touches and made the final modifications. Venerable Miao Yu was invited to admire everyone’s wholehearted creation, and the students thanked the Temple for providing them with an opportunity to learn Chinese crafts and culture.
