Fo Guang Shan (North Island) NZ Prince and Princess Pageant

It was a morning full of excitement. On 17 October, 23 children competed in the Prince and Princess Pageant. They were beautifully and elegantly dressed , eagerly awaiting to showcase their talents to the judges and the audience. Among the contestants were two pairs of twins, some Eurasians and an 8 year-old who volunteered to sign up for the competition impromptu. The contestants were judged on their poise, cat walk, grace, linguistic skills, expression etc.

The results – The winner of the Prince Pageant was 4 year-old Sebastain Ho who won by his flawless recitation of the Chinese Classics while 8 year-old Crystal Chen clinched the Princess title by playing a unique Chinese flute. Other performances included playing the violin, Rap, hip hop and Chinese dance. Prizes for ‘Best performance’, ‘Most talented’ , ‘Coolest performers’ were also presented. The competition ended about 1pm in the afternoon.
