Fo Guang Shan (North Island) NZ Welcomes Volunteers from Fo Guang Shan Toronto and Sydney

01 / 02

On 16 October, 79 year-old volunteer Lucy Huang from Toronto, her daughter Lucia Mak and granddaughter PJ Mak from Sydney, visited Fo Guang Shan (North Island) NZ and were hosted by Abbess Manshin and Venerable Manwang. The temple was crowded with visitors amid the hustling and bustling of activities of the Cherry Blossom Festival and Lucy was excited to be part of this event. She was also very happy to see all the Venerable who guided her during her short term monastic retreat in Nan Tien Temple in Australia.

Lucy and Lucia were searching for Fo Guang Shan temple once they touched down in New Zealand. They rented a car in the city and asked for directions to the temple. Along the way, they enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of New Zealand. They were blessed by the Buddha and found the temple without any difficulty.
