Fo Guang Shan (North Island) NZ Chinese School ~ Reopening of the 4th School Term

01 / 02

On 16 October, Fo Guang Shan (North Island) NZ celebrated its Cherry Blossom Festival, which coincided with the reopening of the 4th school term of the Chinese school. Early in the morning at 9.30am, thirty students assembled at the front shrine and were greeted and addressed by their teacher, Miss Zhang Hua. The students were taught to do things orderly, for example, to cultivate the habit of queuing up before lessons, buying things or taking public transport and so on. Thereafter, Miss Zhang Hua explained the significance of the Cherry Blossom Festival and its’ activities.

Before the school term started, there were many enquiries about the Chinese classes conducted by the Fo Guang Chinese School which included enquiries from many non-Chinese who are very interested in the language. The overwhelming response is recognition of the continuous effort put in by the Chinese School since its establishment. Besides Chinese classes, Fo Guang Chinese School also conducts finger arithmetic, Mathematics and drawing classes to cater to people with different needs.
