Fo Guang Shan NZ (North Island) -Preparation for Cherry Blossom Festival

Perhaps you would have noticed the ‘new tree’ that was planted just beside the wishing bell. On 13 October, the temple’s volunteers decorated the tree which will serve as a ‘wishing tree’ where everyone can hang his/her wish card during the Cherry Blossom Festival on 16 and 17 October in order to have his/her wish come true. Festive celebration always comes with food. In the morning, volunteers gathered in the kitchen and prepared two hundred dark sugar buns for the vegetarian food fair and volunteers in charge of the tea party decorated the tea party venue. After dinner, the English sub-chapter members went door to door around the neighbourhood and distributed brochures. All other groups were also busy with their own preparation to ensure a smooth and successful festival.
