Fo Guang Shan (North Island) Staff Attended Fo Guang Shan Art Gallery Seminar in Taiwan

01 / 02

On 1 October, Fo Guang Shan (North Island) staff Candice visited the temple straight from the airport after a month’s holiday in Malaysia. During her one month holiday , she attended a three-day Art Gallery seminar in Fo Guang Shan Taiwan from 7 to 9 September. This also gave her an opportunity to visit other art galleries in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. What she benefitted most was to learn how to set up an art exhibition, the preparation, planning, designing and publication of it. Abbess Manshin was invited to give a talk on the 8 September whereby she shared her experiences in setting up the New Zealand gallery, its’ daily operation, Introduction to Friends of the Art Gallery and its’ objective, etc.

This was the first time Candice visited Kaohsiung Fo Guang Shan. She had a tour of the Buddhist Cultural Museum, Pureland Cave and Great Buddha Land within the temple premises. Due to time constraint, she missed the opportunity of having formal meals with thousands of devotees. Perhaps, this will give her a reason to visit the temple again.
