New Zealand Fo Guang Shan (North Island) Bodhi Study Group – The Past, The Present and The Future
On 24 September, 10 Bodhi study group members discussed the article “The past, the present and the future” - an excerpt from Master Hsing Yun’s book “ Between Ignorance and Enlightenment”. They were asked the question “ Which is more important : The past, the present or the future?” Under the able guidance of Mrs. Lai, they shared their experiences of the good times and bad times, the ups and downs. We should learn to let go and not to cling on to our achievements or failures. The past is an experience to cherish for it helped shaped our future. The present actions will determine how well we do in the future. Thus Master Hsing Yun encouraged one to move on, broaden one’s mind and never give up. We must treasure every moment available to cultivate diligently as this will lead us to a bright future.
At the end of the session, many of the members were enlightened by the words of wisdom from Master Hsing Yun. The article concluded with: Do not attach to the past, present and future. Always do your best.
The class ended with a sing-along session.
