Lost and Found
“ Excuse me, do you know where is the stone teapot exhibition?” asked the 6 retirees who were apparently lost. As a gesture of hospitality, volunteer GH gave them a guided tour of the ‘Liao Tian Zhao Stone Carved Teapots Exhibition’. The exquisite teapots spur their interest in knowing more about the Artist Liao Tian Zhao and the carving technique. They were surprised that Liao is not as old as they thought even though he has been in this industry for almost 41 years! Thereafter, they visited the main shrine and GH explained the significance and meaning of the architecture , the origin of the Ksitigarbha Dharma Service, “Way of Life Exhibition” and “One stroke Calligraphy”. One of them who visited the temple during the official opening ceremony by Master Hsing Yun in 2007 commented that she could see how much effort and time has been put in as there are so much changes over the past 3 years. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for this fruitful tour without which they would not have realized the rich culture of the temple. They were initially “lost” in the temple premises but later “found” the treasure within with the help of the volunteer.
