Last Saturday BLIA members whose birthdays fall in the second quarter of the year celebrated their birthday en mass at the Temple. The English subchapter organized the occasion. Thank you too, to the Temple for hosting the event.
Speaking on behalf of all who attended we all had a fulfilled celebration. We had party games as an ice breaker, a quiz and then a meal and a birthday cake. We sang "Happy Birthday” and the Abbess led a short chant. I was lucky to be chosen to cut the cake, which we then ate. We were given presents by the Temple.
For those of you whose birthdays fall in other quarters of the year this is an occasion to look forward to.
Unfortunately for you though I do not think the Abbess will celebrate with you as her birthday is in our quarter. You can look forward to a fun celebration with other Sangha members whose birthdays fall in your quarter.
It was good to see so many members of YAD attending as well, and I had no idea so many of them have birthdays in the second quarter as I do.
I am not sure who knew more of the quiz answers from their table as they had the Abbess at their table and I heard a few incorrect answers called out from there but maybe that was a deliberate ploy to put us off winning .
Congratulations to the "Layered cake” group for choosing such an imaginative name. I think they won a party prize as well.
