Visitor Praised Gail’s Artwork
Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island is currently exhibiting abstract oil paintings painted by kiwi artist Gail Batchelor, attracting many art lovers. Gail’s good friend Grahame Sydney took the opportunity of the long weekend to come to the peaceful gallery to enjoy Gail’s most recent art works, and is welcomed by the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Assistant curator SeeShen Lee, and Gail herself.
Gail showed Grahame around, explaining the meanings and ideas behind each piece, and Si Xian showed them around the temple, demonstrating the steps to ringing the Wishing Bell, and they enthusiastically rang the bell themselves, and made wishes. As they are both artists, they were shown a replica of the “Along the River During the Qingming Festival”. Everyone thought highly of the ancient artwork. The pair was very interested architecture of the temple, and asked about it. They were very thankful for the temple volunteers’ hospitality, leaving them a good impression of the art-filled religious temple.
