New Zealand Abbess explained BLIA Roles
On the 27th February 10am, New Zealand BLIA South Island had their first ever lecture with New Zealand Fo Guang Shan Venerable Abbess Manshin. About 40 BLIA members joined this class. Abbess used “Our Precious Life” as a starting topic and related it with humanistic Buddhism and the history of Buddhism development in China. During the lecture, Abbess explained that the BLIA 4 main goals are to promote humanistic Buddhism, propagate the pure land of Buddhism and purify the human heart to realize world peace. Abbess stated few examples of how Buddhism can be practiced in life. She also explained that when we link our life to the Buddhism and use the dharma to work and change self attitude therefore we can reduce the evil thoughts and change ourselves.
BLIA Members proud that Abbess as one of the elected patron of Royal New Zealand Police and became a role model for them. Using Buddhism in life which will reduce the criminal rate proportionally reduce the work load of police officer as well. It is due to Buddhism percepts will help the people and society to calm and behave. After attending this class, members understanding the role and responsibility as BLIA members. Lesson learned were emerged the Buddhism and prajna wisdom in life and enhance a better life.
