01 / 05

On Wednesday 24 March, Mr Shi Debin and wife Li Bin, who are in New Zealand on a business trip from China, were hosted by Venerable Manwang when they visited Fo Guang Shan Temple (North Island) to enquire about the ‘One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha’ event. Mr Shi said that Buddhism is very practical and helpful to overcome their problems in life and they discussed the development and potential of Buddhism in China. Mr Shi shared his experiences on animal liberation and Venerable Manwang explained that animal liberation requires knowledge in order not to harm the animals and being a vegetarian is also an act of animal liberation. She suggested that Mr Shi could start a study group with his friends to read and discuss Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s books to cultivate the right view on Buddhism and its teaching.
