Trees that tell Dharma ~ Fo Guang Shan Temple (North Island) Gardening

01 / 02

Photography, designing and drawing are all forms of art and so is gardening. On 19 of March, Venerable Abbess Manshin, BLIA President Dolly Tsai and 6 others pruned the trees in the Temple garden.
The Abbess demonstrated how to use the gardening tools appropriately in order not to cause harm to the plants and keep the tools in good condition. She taught them how to prune according to the nature and variety of the plants so they can flourish and grow better. Using gardening as an analogy the Abbess explained that plants are like people, we need to provide them with the right conditions, patience and attentiveness for their growth. Trees and flowers and even a small blade of grass are actually telling the Dharma!
