On 22nd February, Venerable Abbess Manshin again went to the Royal New Zealand Police College in Wellington, this time to view the parade of the 41 uniformed recruits of Wing 261. The 261 recruits have started their training on 1st February with a series of course learning and physical training. Until today, they have showed the temperament justice of police. The National Training Manager Superintendent Mike Wilson accompanied the Abbess in admiring the dignified procession.

During breakfast the Abbess led the police recruits in saying ‘grace’ the Buddhist way in hope for a good start to the day. Meanwhile, Abbess has asked the recruits how their study life and training in college. The recruits were kin to share their experience and seek advice from abbess.

Abbess have used Arhat shoes to describe the six Paramitas, percepts scars to describe three studies of Buddhism and used four casting of Buddhism to teach recruits that walk like a wind, sit like a bell, straight like a pine and rest like a bow. Recruits had found that all this were related to life. The Abbess bestowed each recruit a copy of ‘Hsing Yun Dharma Words’ in hope that Venerable Master’s words of wisdom may guide them in both discovering their inner treasures and dealing with the obstacles they may encounter in life.
