IBA Meditation Class Discover the Joyful of Meditation
New Zealand IBA continues the second week meditation class. On the 11th February, English Social class coordinator Shenghan, Lim guided 8 local kiwi in meditation class. First, they warmed up with some Tai Chi followed with a 10 minutes session of walking and sitting meditation. The coordinator encouraged students to spend 5 to 10 minutes meditating daily. When meditating, try to relax the body and mind, coordinate with the breathing and settle down our six roots (eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, brain and nervous system).
During the 40 minutes time, the students have learned the methods of meditation and simple massage for legs. Students gained some experience in counting their own breathing, as they haven’t mastered the skill, they took some time to practice. When the session was nearing the end, everyone gained reasonable experience. They are aware that today’s western lifestyle is very fast paced and everyone are full of thoughts about things to be accomplished and to be worried about. Despite the face pace society that we now live in, meditation is now easily approachable and can be achieved in our day-to-day life. The students realized the joy of meditation in entering and keeping up with today’s society and hence everyone can start the journey of this joy.
