Walking Group Admires Pressed Flower and Egg Art

On 27th January, Bev Smith brought 12 members of the Walking Group to Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island to visit Shan Shan Shiao’s Pressed Flower Exhibition.

Walking Group is one of Christchurch’s fitness groups where members are brought together once a week for a social walk. This was the group’s second visit to the Art Gallery, and Art Gallery Public Relations Officer Seeshen Lee gave them a captivating one-hour tour of both the Korean Egg Art and Chinese Pressed Flower art work.

The group praised the quality of the “transcendental” art works. They expressed that they were lucky to have the opportunity to see the pressed flower art, and commended the artist’s fine craftsmanship.

The group also said that the art gallery like Temple building gives them a sense of warmth and comfort, and that it presents itself as a noble, elegant and calm space. The group promised to tell their families and friends about the Temple and the Art Gallery’s exhibitions and said that they will return to the Art Gallery to visit its future exhibitions.
