Offering Service to Universal Buddhas and Heavenly Kings

On Saturday 20 February, Fo Guang Shan Temple (North Island) held the ‘Offerings to the Universal Buddhas and Heavenly Kings Dharma Service which was attended by over 200 devotees from Taiwan, Malaysia, China and New Zealand (South and North Islands). The devotees took part in an offering rehearsal at 9.30pm ready for the service to begin at 11am when they offered a variety of delicate vegetarian dishes and desserts to the Buddhas and Heavenly Kings.
Abbess Venerable Manshin presided over the ceremony and during her address to the devotees she explained the significance and merits of the service saying that we should be thankful that we are blessed with a healthy body, have no worries about our wealth and are spiritually rich enough to be able to attend the service.
The service ended at about 2am in the morning.
