Singtex Consultant Visits Fo Guang Shan Temple (North Island)
Singtex Technical Fabric’s Consultant Mr Mask Lo visited Fo Guang Shan (North Island) on 10 February 2010. Abbess Venerable Manshin and Venerable Jue Hao hosted him. Mr Lo immigrated to New Zealand from Taiwan 16 years ago. He was a tour guide and has visited many countries including Cambodia where he financially assisted in the building of an orphanage.
Recently, he joined Singtex Technical Fabric which is well known for being the first Taiwanese Company to transform coffee grounds into yarn , which is then use to produce into many styles of knitted and woven fabrics, as well as softshell fabrics. He returned to Taiwan last January and visited Fo Guang Shan main temple in Kao Hsiung
Mr Lo was so amazed and moved by the effort done by Fo Guang Shan in the propagating of Buddhism all over the world that he donated a hundred years old Maitriya Buddha statue which was passed down from his grandparents to Fo Guang Shan (Taiwan).
He expressed his regret for not visiting Fo Guang Shan (North Island) earlier even he lives a stone throw away from the temple. Abbess Venerable Manshin showed him around the Temple , explaining its construction and the development of the propagation of the Dharma in New Zealand. Mr Lo promised to contribute more to the temple in the future.
