01 / 06

Another Temple staff meeting was held on 13th January, and the 11 meeting attendees included Venerable Juexi, Venerable Miaoyu, Water Drop Café’s Gina Chen, Administration’s Tracy Chen, Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery’s Seeshen Lee, Communication’s James Low, Publicity’s Benny Wong, and Dharma Affairs leader Louisa Guo and several others.

Each group reported on their work-in-progress, and topics covered included the preparation of the New Year Arts and Cultural Festival and Sakyamuni Buddha’s Enlightenment Day Congee delivery. Other issues brought forth included the number of participants for the Helena Egg Art Closing Afternoon Tea, the upcoming Art Gallery exhibitions and the New Year’s Celebration Dinner.

Venerable Juexi cited from one of Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s books: “only when there is talent, can Buddhism develop and expand”, and explained that the purpose of creating new industry opportunities within Buddhism is to retain talents so that Buddhism can sustain itself and continue growing and expanding. Fostering talent is one of the objectives of Fo Guang Shan.
