The world is my classroom – Youth summer camp
After two weeks of the summer camp, the youth know each other better and are getting along very well. They are beginning to adapt to the temple life and etiquette.
Throughout the camp, they are busy with the gardening and chores, going for lessons and many other activities which are planned for them. After dinner on the 7th of January 2010, they went for mountain climbing under the guidance of the Venerable. The youth were taught the analogy of a mountain and a spacious heart. The magnificent mountain nurture plants and cradles sentient beings. Similarly, one should learn to be like a mountain, to respect and tolerance of others which epitonmize magnanimity and learn to be like a tree which provides shade for people.
On the 8th of January 2010, the energetic youth helped with the spreading of soil onto the plants following the direction of Abbess Venerable Manshin, Venerable Rulian and BLIA Committee member Annie. As a reward for their hard work, they were brought to the beach for a swim as well as to enjoy the sea breeze and the sunshine.
