Spiritual Arts ~ An interview with Artist Yin Ling Tang

Mr Liu Long Hua is a radio station DJ, an architect, a photographer, a director and an artist. He was here in Fo Guang Shan (North Island) on the 7th of January 2010 to interview Miss Yin Ling Tang whose artworks are being displayed in our Art Gallery from the 24th of November 2009 to the 10th of January 2010.
Mr Liu Long Hua was a successful businessman, but decided to give up his business to pursue his passion in art after his back operation a few years ago, as he felt that life is impermanent. Through his interview with different artists, he hopes to reveal the inner spiritual thoughts and messages the artists would like to present to the public through their drawings, thus incorporating spirituality into the art.

He commented that the Fo Guang Shan (North Island) Art Gallery has a simplistic decoration which is able to bring out the spirit of the Artwork and the temple’s quiet environment will enable one to appreciate the art using a peaceful mind.
He interviewed Abbess Venerable Manshin and Venerable Manwang about the history of the Art Gallery. Venerable Manshin hopes that the Art Gallery can provide a platform for the artists to present the true, the good and the beauty of the human race through their art.
