Day 2 of Youth Summer Camp
The second day of the New Zealand Youth Summer Camp was 30 December 2009 and everyone was getting to know each other better. Though some of the youths were new to Temple life and etiquette they are fitting in well.
After a simple but sumptuous breakfast, they helped in the preparation of the “One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha” event under BLIA Committee member Annie’s guidance. She will be taking care of them throughout the camp.
They helped tidy the carpark, the field of merit, the Temple corridors and also there was some weeding of the gardens.
Late afternoon Abbess Venerable Manshin had a discussion with them. She talked about the “Three Acts of Goodness and the Four Givings” which they had just completed through their tidying and gardening. The Abbess asked them to transfer the merit that they had gained from doing this work to members of their families.
