Dharma Lecturer Cheng From Far Away Arrives in Chch!
FGS Dharma Lecturer Peipei Cheng and her family from far away Hong Kong arrived on Christchurch soil on 26th December, and visited Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple for the very first time.
Upon their arrival, they were warmly received by Venerable Abbess Manshin, Venerable Juexi, Venerable Miaoyu, BLIA South Island Vice-president Meihua Chen, Directors Guihua Yang, Gina Chen and Loiusa Guo, and many other volunteers.
First of all, the guests were taken to the Buddha Hall, where they paid homage to the Buddha and offered incense. Venerable Abbess Manshin then introduced to them the concepts behind the Temple design and pinpointed their unique characteristics.
They were then taken for a tour of the Buddha Hall, Time Capsule hallway, Chan courtyard and Shan Shan Shiao’s Pressed Flowers Exhibiton of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch. During the tour, the family connected with the peaceful atmosphere of the Temple and expressed their joy and enthusiasm in doing so.
Following the tour, the Abbess invited them for some refreshments at the Water Drop Café where the BLIA Directors shared their valuable experiences of Dharma propagation throughout the world.
Later, Venerable Abbess Manshin invited the Dharma Lecturer to organise a seminar for the members of BLIA South Island when the opportunity arises, and Dharma Lecture Cheng promised to do so without hesitation.
