Consultant Moved by Spirit of Humanistic Buddhism
All the way from Wellington, business advisor of Investment New Zealand, Ms. Jane Liu and her friends arrived at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch on 25th December to visit the current Shan Shan Hsiao’s Pressed Flower Exhibition and Helena Egg Art Exhibition.
Ms. Liu was inspired and impressed with the architecture of the Temple building, and had many questions on her mind. Venerable Abbess Manshin kindly attended to her, answering all the queries she had; this led to a detailed discussion about the relationship between architecture and life.
Ms. Liu noted that she has been to the Fo Guang Shan Temples in Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland, but her trip to Christchurch’s FGS Temple is truly an unforgettable and inspirational one. Due to career commitments, Ms. Liu has extensively travelled the world. Next year she will be organising the upcoming World Expo in Shanghai.
During the discussion with Abbess the high flyer of profound knowledge and understanding in architecture, Chinese culture and the history of civilisation gained some insight into the missions and objectives of Fo Guang Shan and the Humanistic Buddhism ideal advocated by Venerable Master Hsing Yun.
Before her departure, apart from bringing home buckets full of inspiration, Ms. Liu also received a copy of the “Southern China Human Resources Weekly” magazine that featured an article about Venerable Master Hsingyun; FGS New Zealand’s Opening Ceremony Special Report; and the activities report of BLIA North and South Island.
