FGS English Buddhism Class Gives Students Confidence!

The second English Buddhism Class took place on the evening of 20th December. 20 volunteers of the Reception, Art Gallery and other departments of the Temple attended the class taken by English Social Education Group Shenghan Lim.

This lesson focused on basic Buddhist terminology and their explanations as well as how to become a Buddhist disciple. Topics covered were the Buddha Nature, the defining characteristics of Theravada Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism and the different types of Buddhist disciples to name several.

Very quickly, the discussions began to flow; most importantly the staffs are learning to use English of their ability to introduce Buddhism to the locals. For the more difficult concepts, Venerable Juexi provided an in-depth explanation in Chinese to help the students gain a better understanding of them. With a willing heart to learn, the students will quickly develop confidence in propagate Buddhism using English.
