Guests All the Way from Tahiti Visit FGS South Island
On 13th December, tour group leader Ms. Lucy Afou brought 26 visitors from Tahiti to FGS South Island for a visit. Upon their arrival at the Temple, the guests were welcomed by Temple Supervisor Venerable Juexi, FGY Art Gallery Christchurch Public Relations Officer Seeshen Lee and the team at Reception.
The group’s visit was the result of their bus driver’s dedication to his job; he came to the Temple in advance to inquire whether he could bring his group for a visit.
To begin, the guests were introduced to the artworks of Shan Shan Hsiao’s Pressed Flower Exhibition and Helena Egg Art of FGY Art Gallery. Following on, the guests were shown around the Buddha Hall and Time Capsule.
As most of our friends from Tahiti could only speak French and Tahitian, group leader Ms. Afou and member Ms. Tiffany Harry came to the rescue by offering high-class translations of the introductions by the tour guides of the Temple.
Everyone showed great interest in the artwork praised the Temple building design. Before the guests left, Venerable Juexi presented them with copies of the “Six Word Mantra”, wishing them a safe journey, and encouraged them to come back whenever the opportunity arises.
