“Imageries Brushed by the Wind” Photographic Exhibition’s Opening Ceremony at the Temple – Creating Life’s Values
An opening ceremony for the exhibition “Imageries Brushed by the Wind” by Kim Teoh was held at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 1 on 1st January The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Venerable Abbess Manshin, Gallery Curator; Kim Teoh, Renowned Malaysian Photographer; Inspector Rakesh Naidoo, Strategic Advisor to Human Rights Commission; Venkat Raman, Editor & General Manager to Indian News Link; Adele J White, Howick Local Board Deputy Chairperson; Guoming Zhang, WTV CEO; Mr Xinlung Lin, China Airline New Zealand Branch General Manager; and other audiences to a total of 400 people.
“When you observe how African animals live you can see that: If one walks too fast, they will have to walk by themselves; if one wants to venture afar, then they will have to go with another animals of the herd.” During the opening speech Inspector Naidoo commented on how Kim Teoh so vividly captured these imagines of Southern Africa. He also thought these pictures reminded him of BLIA’s spirit of team creation, because of this team work the mission of Dharma propagation can go far and wide.
This was followed by praises from Adele J white and Venkat Raman, who thought that a picture is worth a thousand words. For these pieces sincerely showed the images of nature. The VIPs also thanked Fo Guang Yuan Gallery 1 for helping to exhibit these wonderful works to elevate the level of art and culture in Auckland.
The Abbess spoke about the modern times being an era of creation, whether it’s creating new careers, creating new opportunities, creating new records, creating miracles and creating a better life. This spirit creation can be made toward creating things of value that influence everyone toward all that is truthful, kind and beautiful. With this spirit in mind we can all create a peaceful and harmonious world together.
Finally Tim Teoh went on stage to talk his photographing experiences. He described his method as not having a specific target in mind but to following the conditions and take pictures of worth during opportune moments. After widening the focus of his subjects, he discovered beside animals, wind also possess many features on the plains of Southern Africa. Hence he went on to capture images of wind patterns and all the visage of beauty expressed by this formless force. It’s such a precious opportunity to be able to clearly the tranquillity and harmony of the world in this manner.
