3rd Meeting for the “One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha” Project Committees

The 3rd meeting for the “One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha” Project was held on 20 December 2009. Ten members attended the meeting including Venerable Miao Yu and the Principal, Mr Xie Kun, who chaired the meeting. The committee discussed how to continue to motivate the members responsible for promoting this activity. To date 243 people have signed up for 1 January 2010 sutra copying event.

The publicity group has distributed a further 100 copies of the brochures to promote this event. It has also been advertised on television and in newspapers. The members advised that it will be more effective to explain this activity to the public via colourful posters to raise awareness of the purpose of sutra copying and the location of the enshrined sutra.

The committee suggested continuous playing of the video about the Buddha Memorial Centre in the Front Shrine during the festive holidays, 24 December to 28 December, taking advantage of increased numbers of people who visit the Temple during this period. The next meeting will be held on 27 December and the committee hopes that all the leaders of the various groups and their members can attend the meeting. The Buddha Memorial Centre video will be shown on the day during the meeting.
