The Fo Guang Shan Temple (North Island) Art Exhibition by the artist Yin Ling Tang’s is being shown from24 November 2009 to 10 January 2010 was the subject of an article in the Howick and Pakuranga Times newspaper on 16 December 2009. The reporter interviewed Venerable Miao Yu who said ‘it is good to have a local artistic like Yin Ling Tang to exhibit her artwork here at the North Island Fo Guang Shan Temple.
Falling in love with New Zealand’s rural landscape and farm life, artist Yin Lin Tang moved to New Zealand from Taiwan in 2000. She paints local scenes, including kiwi kids with their farm pets, Ilama and alpaca. The artist’s work is described as contemporary and creative. She is also skilled in painting traditional Chinese art which she wants to create as a blend of mixing traditional techniques with new contemporary styles.
Yin Lin Tang is happy to exhibit her artwork at Fo Guang Shan Temple (North Island) as they not only offered their help in many areas but also assisted in the translation of her artwork notation into English.
