2nd Meeting for the “One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha” Project Committees
The “One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha” project committees held their 2nd meeting on 13 December 2009 at 1pm. Ten members attended the meeting including Venerable Manwang and the Principal, Mr Xie Kun, who chaired the meeting.
The committee has been promoting this Sutra coping project for two weeks which will take place on 1 January 2010. The response so far is very encouraging. About 200 people have signed already up for this activity. The publicity committee has distributed posters about this event to the neighbouring shops and has been advertised on the television and in the newspaper. The group discussed how further advertisements and publications could be organised and how the administration could be improved.
The group also discussed other days on which this Sutra copying can take place. One of which is on the traditional Chinese Festival, known as Ancestors Day or Tomb Sweeping Day, on 4 April 2010. Venerable Manwang also suggested that the Sutra copying event could be carried out during the Chinese Lunar New Year, which takes place over 2 weeks, to take advantage of increased numbers of people who attend during this period.
The meeting ended about 3pm.
