The One Million Heart Sutras in the Buddha project was launched in Fo Guang Shan Temples all over the world to support the construction of the Buddha Memorial Centre in Taiwan’s Fo Guang Shan Temple .Venerable Master Hsing Yun has been planning to build this Centre for decades. About 15 worldwide project committees were set up and they have since held their first meetings. The Committees are working on how to encourage people to take part in this rare event. The copied sutras will be sent back to Taiwan Fo Guang Shan together with the copies from all over the world and will be enshrined into the Buddha statue of the Buddha Memorial Centre. In New Zealand a sub-committee has been formed. A retired Principal, Mr Xie Kun; his wife, who was also a School Principal; their daughter and son-in-law have been invited by the Abbess to join the Auckland working committee to promote this meaningful program of the One million Heart Sutras. The next meeting will be held on next Sunday at 1pm.
