Sheep Pellets and a Feast

01 / 04

What is the hottest thing this summer holiday for the youth?

That will be fertilizing the plants and trees in North Island Fo Guang Shan temple with tonnes of sheep pellets. On 5 December, the Abbess of the temple led a group of youth who are on summer holiday to a mountain of sheep pellets. The youth helped to fertilize the plants around the temple by dispersing tonnes of sheep pellets. Gardening within the temple grounds has become part of the summer holiday life for some of the FGS youth. They have helped nurture the shrubs and trees and watched them grow and blossom into what is seen today. The youth were happy and laughing as they went about their work. As a reward for their hard work the day ended with a beautiful evening sunset followed by a feast of pizza and soft drinks.
