01 / 10

On 19th November, Chief Arts column Editor Mr. Chris Moore and photographer Ms. Carys Monteath from Christchurch’s local newspaper The Press arrived at FGS South Island for an interview.

After learning that the Shiao Shan Shan Pressed Flower Exhibition from far away Taiwan will arrive in Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island on 28th November, Mr. Moore made a trip to the Temple to gather relevant information.

Temple Supervisor Venerable Juexi, FGY Art Gallery Public Relations Officer Seeshen Lee, Art Gallery volunteer Tour Guide Meijun Lin and English Social Education’s Shenghan Lim warmly received the reporter. During his Temple tour, Mr. Moore commended the contemporary Temple building design, its environmental friendliness and its humanistic spirit.

The reporter and photographer enjoyed the peacefulness of every corner of the Temple; especially FGY Art Gallery’s Way Of Life Photography Exhibition, the Time Capsule, the chronological picture biography of Venerable Master Hsing Yun and the Buddha Hall. There was so much to see and admire that Mr. Moore found it difficult slow down for a closer look.

The visitors then made their way to the Egg Exhibition, where they engaged in a pleasant conversation with Egg Artist Helena Kim and BLIA South Island Consultant Mr. Ron Wright.

Venerable Juexi presented Mr. Moore with Venerable Master’s book ‘Handing Down the Light’, which he received joyfully and promised that he will read it and share the book with a good friend of his.
