Successful Event Reviewed During Afternoon Tea Sharing

01 / 06

On 19th November, YAD South Island enjoyed an appreciation afternoon tea at FGS South Island, where everyone shared their thoughts on the Heart of a Child Childrens’ Week event. A dozen people, including the YAD 1 and 2 Presidents, Jason Liu and Danny Chen, YAD 2 Vice-president Jay Chen, members Haotin Lin, Fanping Chiang and Fujian and Guiding Reverend Venerable Juexi and Venerable Miaoyu.

This year, the youth devoted a lot of effort preparing for children’s week, and during the course of the event activities, exerted immense amounts of energy to warm up the atmosphere. Although many of the young event staff felt nervous hosting such a big event, they had learnt a lot from it.

During the sharing session, the youth expressed that: they need to be more committed to the tasks and not be too dependent on other people’s help; because of the likely hood of stage fright, they should make thorough preparations to cater for unexpected changes; because the little guests were very shy, YAD members need to be warm and enthusiastic in interacting with them; and most guests arrive early, so it is vital that event staff arrive earlier at the Temple to review the day’s schedule.

The youth also expressed that through the meaningful event, they have learnt how to love, care and look after children. Venerable Miaoyu also gave the youths advice to consider, and Venerable Juexi encouraged them to be persistent in effort so that they may accumulate experience and be well prepared of next year’s events.
