High Standards Set During AGM Preparatory Meeting

To ensure a successful and smooth running AGM, BLIA South Island held a preparatory meeting at FGS South Island on the evening of 17th November. The 20 people who attended the meeting included BLIA South Island President Almeric Cheng, Vice-president Meihua Chen, Directors Gina Chen, Wanru Lai and Shuangqi Li, North-one Sub-chapter President Guihua Yang, West-one Sub-chapter President Lingqin Cai Secretary James Low, Committee members, volunteers, Guiding Reverend Venerable Juexi and Venerable Miaoyu.

During the meeting, each group leader and their members discussed work in progress and task descriptions, and the proposals prepared by the members were carefully studied to ensure the smooth passing of these motions.

Everyone was concerned about the welfare of the members and also discussed was the recruiting of new members. Director Louisa Guo was chosen to be the leader of the members’ welfare group.

Venerable Juexi encouraged everyone to be more actively involved with Temple activities and to organise BLIA activities from time to time for the new members to participate in and benefit from, and to allow them to feel a sense of warmth and acceptance.

Following immediately after the AGM on the 28th November will be the opening ceremony of Shan Shan Shiao’s Pressed Flower Exhibition. All the BLIA members will fully engage with their tasks at hand to bring about a successful event. The Directors present at the meeting were also invited to be the VIP of the event. Everyone is anticipating yet a successful AGM.
