BLIA Members Make Courageous Commitment

On 14th November, BLIA Vice-president Ms. Meihua Chen, Directors Ms. Gina Chen and Ms. Laifai Ng, Committee Member Ms. Suzhen Wang and Young Adults Division Members Jason Liu, Benny Wong and Sheng-Han Lim made their way up to FGS North Island Temple to take part in the Five Precepts and Bodhisattva Precepts Ceremony.

Concluding on 15th November, the devotees gathered in the afternoon for a heart to heart session with Venerable Abbess Manshin and to share their experiences of the ceremony. The committee members were all grateful to the Temple for giving them the opportunity to take precepts, and realised the rarity and preciousness of the Buddha-Dharma and Precepts-Dharma during the process of precepts conferment, particularly during the lighting of the precepts incense. Although some pain was experienced, the heart and soul gained everlasting peace.

The Abbess reminded everyone that the conditions for taking precepts are rare, and again encouraged all to cherish the present opportunity for making the great precept promise, overcome whatever obstacles that lies before, and to let go of the attachments of the mind and plant the seeds of Bodhi in themselves with courage.
