Touching Hearts with Eternal Light
The first Medicine Buddha Dharma Function of year 2009 was held on the evening of 6th November with around 60 participants attending the special Function. Not only were the regular devotees present that evening, there were also Christchurch locals at the Function to pray for their loved ones and make light offerings.
The magnificently decorated Buddha Hall was illuminated with many coloured lamps, and combined with the Buddhist chanting of the Dharma Function, resonated on the hearts of whoever walked in.
Following the Dharma Function, the Venerable in charge, Venerable Juexi gave a Dharma talk on Humanistic Buddhism and how we must approach life with a positive attitude. She also touched on the fact that how much one can achieve in life depends on how much one can accommodate in their hearts; we must learn to be more accommodating in our hearts so as to create more good causes and aim to be a living Bodhisattva.
