BLIA Director’s Meeting Discusses Major Events

On 31st October, BLIA South Island held its second Director’s meeting for year 2009. The ten people in attendance included BLIA South Island Advisor John Lai, Vice-president Mei-Hua Chen, Directors Eugene You, Gui-Hua Yang, Gina Chen, Hui-Ying Lee, Mei-Ling Lee, YAD 2 President Danny Chen and several others, as well as Guiding Reverend Venerable Juexi and Venerable Miaoyu.

The meeting agenda consisted of ten issues, namely the confirmation of the date for the next Annual General Meeting, the North and South Island BLIA English Sub-chapter Social Gathering, Nature and Life Floral Show and the 2010 Buddha’s Birthday to name several. The BLIA Directors expressed their valuable opinions regarding the Annual General Meeting and Hsiao Shan Shan’s Floral Exhibition Opening Ceremony, and resolved to conduct further preparatory meetings for the floral show. Everyone displayed their enthusiasm in aiming to make the coming events as successful and vibrant as possible.

After the meeting, Guiding Reverend Venerable Juexi shared a few words with everyone, explaining that the senior committee members should integrate with new members and help BLIA become complete, and to continue recruiting new blood so that various kinds of talents may join forces and assist in realising BLIA’s ideals. The Venerable also encouraged everyone to continue being diligent in undertaking the duties of the Fo Guang person and bringing back glory to the Buddha.
