Preparatory Meeting for FGS Abbot’s Tea Chan Talk
Spring time this year is a joyous one at FGS South Island Temple. On 28th September, BLIA Headquarters Chief President Most Venerable Hsin Ting delivered a moving and interesting Dharma Lecture at FGS South Island. To add more zest to the already vibrant season, the current Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, Most Venerable Hsin Pei will be coming to conduct an innovative Tea Chan Dharma Talk to allow the Temple devotees a chance to have a discussion on Buddhism.
BLIA South Island its Young Adult Division have taken the initiative to assist the Temple with preparatory work, as they all wish to ensure the smooth running of the Dharma Talk. In the evening of 2nd October, everyone gathered at FGS South Island to conduct a preparatory meeting for the Dharma Talk, and those who attended included BLIA South Island President Almeric Cheng, Vice-president Mei-Hua Chen, BLIA Directors, BLIA committee members and YAD 1 and 2 Presidents Jason Liu and Danny Chen, totaling 20 people. Venerable Juexi and Venerable Miaoyu were also present.
During the meeting, President Cheng divided the work for the event into several important groups, namely administration, receptionist, media, meal service, transportation and meal preparation. Equipped with vast experience, everyone present in the meeting took to the challenge and resolved to accomplish the tasks set forth and for this rare and precious Dharma Talk.
Venerable Juexi thanked everyone on behalf of the Temple for their selfless contribution during the past few months, with which the Temple has been able to conduct many successful and fruitful events. Everyone also thanked the Venerables for giving them guidance in doing all they can for Buddhism in New Zealand; the pure land on earth.
