Chch Inner Wheel Club Just Can’t Get Enough of It!

01 / 10

Under the arrangement of Mr. Joy Holdsworth, the local Christchurch Inner Wheel Club members paid a visit to Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple on 17th September.

The group of fifteen ladies was also one of the groups of visitors who arrived at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery to witness the “Wonders of Embroidery” Exhibition in June earlier this year. This visit was the result of their unforgotten enjoyable memories of visiting the Buddhist Temple.

Following their afternoon tea at the Tea House, they joined in the guided tour led by BLIA President Mr. Almeric Cheng. Mr. Cheng introduced to the visitor the significance of the building concept and its architectural features, and later showed them the Zen painting on the concrete wall of the courtyard. Coincidently, the visitors came at the time when the 40th Anniversary Mini Cooper was on display; it also captured much of the ladies’ attention.

Later on, Mr. Cheng showed them the auction items as well as the “Way of Life” photography exhibition that is on in the FGY Art Gallery. Following on, gave an explanation of the basic Buddhism concepts and an introduction to Venerable Master Hsing Yun. The Inner Wheel Club members finished the Temple Tour with a further understanding of Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple. Ms. Holdsworth expressed that she and her group look forward to future visits and more high-standard exhibitions at the Art Gallery, and expressed her thanks to Mr. Cheng and members of Fo Guang Shan for their warm hospitality.
