The Egg Art Exhibition by renowned Korean artist Ms. Helena Kim at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island has been well received by both Christchurch locals and the Korean community in Christchurch. On 4th September, Assistant Secretary of the Korean Ambassador in New Zealand, Mr. Suk Dong, the President of Korean Community Christchurch, Mr. Kevin Park and their friends visited the Egg Art Exhibition at FGY Art Gallery South Island, with artist Helena Kim taking them around personally.

Upon their arrival, the guests were welcomed by the Venerables and volunteers at the Art Gallery. Art Gallery Assistant Curator See Shen Lee introduced to them some of the art works created by Ms. Kim, and explained that everyone is taking to their final opportunity of witnessing Ms. Kim’s Egg Art Exhibition in New Zealand by visiting the Art Gallery. Ms. Kim shared with the guests some insight into her learning process as an artist using their native tongue, and in doing so, created a warm, home-like atmosphere for the guests.

The guests confided that they were touched to have the opportunity to see their national artworks outside of their motherland. They also visited the “Way of Life Photograph Exhibition”, and toured around the Temple building. Prior to their departure, Venerable Juexi presented the guests with the “Way of Life” book and gave them an invitation to attend the upcoming Charity Auction Banquet on 19th September.
