On 2nd September, teacher Ms. Charon Holderness from Aranui High School brought 24 students of her ESOL class to Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island to visit its current exhibitions the “Way of Life Photography Exhibition” and “Helena Egg Art”, as well as the auction items which will be available for bidding during the charity auction.

When the visitors arrived, FGY Art Gallery Assistant Curator See Shen Lee took the South Korean and Japanese students for a quick tour of the Egg exhibition as she provided an informative commentary along the way. The students displayed great appreciation for the efforts artist Helena Kim has put into creating her artworks.

According to Ms. Charon, this was the first time her students have visited Fo Guang Shan South Island. When the students found out about the finale Egg craft Exhibition of Helena Kim at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery from a Korean newspaper, they decided not to let the opportunity to view the international artist’s works slip, and organised a trip to the Temple to see the exhibition.

The students had the privilege of having Artist Helena share a few words with them during the tour, and everyone was excited for having the chance to witness such high quality artworks. The visitors appreciated the warm welcome given by the Venerables and volunteers at Fo Guang Shan South Island, and left Temple with precious memories.
