01 / 05

The “Counties Manukau Police Annual District Leadership Team Strategy Day” was held at the temple for it’s 4th year on 4th May. Superintended John Tims and 29 subordinates arrived at the temple’s courtyard on 8:00am and was received by Venerable Abbess Manshin, Venerable Rulian and BLIA members.

This year’s meeting will involve the discussion of Manukau Police Precinct’s strategies and direction for the coming year. The temple was chosen as the venue due to it’s tranquil and peaceful environment. Hospitality of BLIA members and delicious food from the Tea House were also a part of this venue’s appeal.

At start of the meeting the Abbess chanted prayers to wish for all participants to receive more acute awareness and inspiration through the Buddha’s words of wisdom, therefore achieving agreement on common strategies. Then the Superintendent and team were lead on a tour to visit the “The Beauty of Buddha’s Light – Venerable Huei Yan Photography World Travelling Exhibition” and “The Enlightenment of an Indian Prince Exhibition”. The visitors praised the new exhibition’s exquisite decorations as well as hanging their wishes onto the wishing tree. They also recommended that the image of “3G4G” babies can be made into colouring books for children to unleash their creativity. The Abbess expressed that the photographic exhibition uses the lens to showcase the history of Fo Guang Shan’s comprehensive propagation of Humanistic Buddhism. The “Little Prince” exhibition will plant wholesome seed into young minds. She reaffirmed the temple’s effort to spread the positive ideals of “3 Good Deeds and 4 Kinds of Giving” to society, which will surely bring more harmony to the wider community.
