The Handover Ceremony and Auckland BLIA Sub Chapter Committee Meeting

Recently all subchapters of the Auckland BLIA elected and appointed new committees.

On Sunday the new and past committee members attended a handover ceremony in the Main Shrine, lead by Venerable Abbess Manshin. The sash of office was passed to the newly elected Chairperson of each sub-committee. For the ESC Linda Daniell passed the sash to Lesley Ruki-Willison as the newly elected Chair. Venerable Abbess Manshin presented the Chairperson; the two vice-chairs, Claire Cunneen and Veronica Lee; and the Secretary, Hope Dixon with certificates to mark the beginning of their two year term of office. The ceremony was attended by several other members of ESC who came along to offer support.

After lunch there was a meeting in the Tea House of all the past and present committee members, hosted by Venerable Abbess Manshin and the President of the Auckland BLIA, Dolly Tsai.

Dolly was very appreciative of the elected and appointed committee members of each of the sub chapters. She encouraged the sub chapters to take part in the activities and functions of the Temple and encouraged the sub chapters to join together to work on various activities. She made many suggestions on activities that the sub chapters could initiate or take part in, within and outside the Temple. She also reminded the members to continue strengthening the affinity of our membership.

This was then followed by each of the Committee members introducing themselves and Abbess Manshin noting their contribution to the Temple and making kind observations / affirmations about them.
