Caring and visiting elders

On the morning of 27th June, Venerable Rulian, our new President of English Sub chapter Lesley, and 20 members of English Sub chapter and YAD (young adult division) visited the retirement home at Lansdowne on Botany Road, and MetLife in Highland Park. Vice-President of BLIA, Linda explained the purpose of the visit to the elderly and also explained the mission of BLIA and humanistic Buddhism. Our representative groups sang songs such as: Harmonize, Vow To Be, and Song of BLIA to entertain the residents, and taught them to make origami lotus flowers. Georgina also played the piano. The elderly had a wonderful time, and some of them told us that they had visited the Fo Guang Shan Temple before and were very impressed by its peacefulness and beauty.
